Edible Futures / Landscape and Interior – Spatial Design Studio 2 @Polimi Food Politics, Food Cultures and Food Futures Food, its production and consumption is obviously fundamental to our biology, but the invisible infrastructure that feeds us is overlaid with what Dan Barber describes as ‘a web of relationships’ where our health, social status and cultural heritage intersect with both local and global politics. The young designer rethinked and re-used a serie of buildings along the London Low Line to explore how Edible Futures can play a key role in re-shaping our cities.

Habitat is a project developed to intercept future trends in the world of food and beverage. The project is based on the concept of insertion used in different situations, both spatial and conceptual. The convergence between tradition and innovation, known and unknown, internal and external, create an urban space full of activities and actions for public and private realities. The space is divided into internal habitats designed for recreation, education and work and has the aim of creating a single deep link between public and private and a consequent awareness linked to the food of the present and the future.
