Laboratory abstract

The laboratory has dealt with the issue of temporary construction of disused spaces owned by the municipality, with the aim of returning them to citizenship with reversible interventions capable of interpreting the pre-existence as an "unfinished" to be exploited, with a view to reactivation social and urban regeneration.

Eremì is a place that adapts to new lifestyles that are increasingly liquid, free and moving, metaphorically carved into rocks of invisible matter, tunnels and caverns, shaped by water and wind in a primordial future, so as to allow soft and free flows within the space. It is a device consisting of only two modules, with irregular polygons of 4 and 5 sides that can be reconfigured in various combinations. The result is a sort of mineral organism, stone flowers that conceal the basic functions of living within them. A place of calm, but at the same time collective, a crossroads where travelers and locals meet, open to any kind of cultural contamination, where it is possible to spend the night, play sports or relax enjoying one of the views that best describe Varese and the his continuous dialogue with nature.
