Laboratory abstract

The primary goal of the studio is to inspire students to recognize the elements that characterize an interior, enhancing its identity. Particular attention is given to the study of the preceptive principles: the functional and fruitful aspects and the material-technological consistency. The studio alternates theoretical and practical activities, providing a continuous and experimental training in order to teach how to see and to communicate a project.

The final paper of the studio is the Leporello, it shows the fundamental aspects of the project that each group of students has developed through the tools and contents earned during the three didactic modules that characterize the “Elementi Visivi del Progetto” studio. This paper consists of a single sheet, 30x30cm, made up of four or five pages and folded on itself, in order to create a sort of accordion. The first page introduces the theme of the project, describing its uses and basic characteristics, while the following pages explore the formal and technical aspects, the materials and the colors of the project, through the creation of communicative drawings, moodboards, sketches and photographs. The format that we choose allows to transpose the idea of sequence, not only in the formal aspect, but also in the representation and communication of the project.
