The name “Tèca” comes from a play on words between “tea” and “coffee”, but also from the meaning of the word itself: casket of riches. Tèca is, in fact, a casket of cultures, a market of beverage and an immersive itinerary through the two most consumed drinks in the world: tea and coffee. It stands in the former Baranzate kindergarten, a few km from Milan, and inside we have recreated a sort of miniature town: there’s a market with 12 stands, dedicated to the same number of countries, where it is possible to consume the drinks according to the typical traditions; then there’s a square, with some stairs of different heights that allow a dynamic fruition of the space, along with some more canonical seats, of different heights too; it continues with the galleries, one for each drink, where it is possibile to buy tea, coffee and different tools to prepare the drinks, but also taking part to the immersive itinerary, from the plant to the cup, inside two greenhouses. The outside provides different kind of fruition: from the informal one of the stage, to the playful one of the seesaws, to finish with the more individual one of the “monoporzioni”.
