The final exercise of the academic year 2019/20 requires setting an essential living cell in one of Italo Calvino’s 55 ‘invisible cities’. Each student has assigned a city and must develop his housing cell from the composition of the elements of the architectural order, structuring it as a studio apartment overlooking the surreal urban landscape of the assigned city, using historical furnishings of international design inside Groups of 5 set the 11 ‘categories’ by agreeing on the common features of urban landscapes of the respective cities and their housing cells, conceived as a holiday bungalow, within which to organize the essential housing functions. Each student develops and processes the work autonomously, respecting the characteristics common to the ‘category’ of city assigned to the group, conceived as an aggregate of cells in a small homogeneous urban system.
