Livestock and food sector strongly relies on natural resources from which they benefit; at th same time this relationship is fruitful but susceptible to climate-related changes. The territory in which they are located shows high rates of Land Degradation. Boosting the production, in relation to the elevate density the population is going to reach in the next future, will increase the damages to the Earth ending up with a complete scarcity of natural resources. In fact, predictions for the future are frightening enough to pursue innovative strategies. In this scenario CremonaFiere, a specialized agri-livestock trade-show active right at the center of Italian production, has the possibility to make changes to ensure future generations’ livability. CremonaFiere is achieving clean energy efficiency in order to reduce air and soil pollution which is quite persistent in Cremona area, as result of dense food-livestock production. Nevertheless, technical aspects are essential to lower emissions to create fruitful and fertile environment, but as UN and EU stated the necessity to approach also to other fundamental features such as enrich biodiversity to foster vibrant rural areas have to be considered as well.
