The summer solstice is an event that often goes unnoticed: from this premise comes the idea of designing an urban space where people can fully enjoy this event. The pavilion is located in Piazzale Duca d’Aosta, an excellent position as the day of the summer solstice at sunset the sun aligns perfectly with the road, coming out from behind the Pirellone. The pavilion has two curtain walls made of different materials: orange plexiglas, transparent and dichroic glass, so as to reflect the light of the sunset inside the space accentuating the colors. On the west wall there is a hole for the filled with water: on the day of the summer solstice, at sunset, the sun aligns perfectly with it, creating on the opposite wall a play of reflections that recall the spritz. The sunset is in fact the Happy Hour time, which is why inside you can create your own cocktail and drink it while watching the sun go down from the roof garden.
