The theme of the Laboratory is COVER, a collection of thirteen scenographic installation projects developed by groups of students inspired by soundtracks. Proposed musical atmospheres are a selection of works by heterogeneous artists, including John Cage, Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Radiohead, Bjork, Talking Heads, which suggest a space idea through text or articulation of the score. Workshop peculiarity is that students managed project development by working teams entirely remotely. In particular, the 1:20 maquette was sectioned into parts, independently developed by each group member, and then physically or virtually reassembled through photomontages to give the idea of the entire space. Design and implementation of projects phases are collected in a book and in a video that show atmosphere of the installations. DEEP is a set design inspired by Brian Eno’s “Once in a Lifetime” track. “This project it is entirely focused on the concept of repetition, in a time where protagonist is engulfed by an alienating routine, in which everything seems to repeat itself in an almost hypnotic loop and he goes down in this reality.”
