Laboratory abstract

“The art interprets sciences. Narrative exhibitions and interdisciplinary explorations” The design studio worked on designing temporary exhibitions focused on the relationship between art and science: in particular between art and a specific branch of sciences (biology, robotics, ICT, environmental engeneering and so on). Each team dealt with both the curatorial part choosing the topic, artists and works of art, and the exhibit design part. We supposed that this initiative was included in the palinsext of the Miart artistic fair using the Padiglione RAI by P.G. and A. Castiglioni as a structure where the temporary exhibition is placed.

The exhibition analyzes the link between art and science, taking in consideration art works that concentrate on the study of the phenomenon of brightness. This path wants to educate the visitor, showing him first knowledge about light physics, with its own proprieties, laws and models, and then go beyond the plane of reality and scientific consciousness, leaving the viewer free of visualizing immersive art works that analyze light in its poetic and symbolic form, exalting fantasy and imagination. At the end of the exhibition the visitor has clear the deep bond between art and science, two disciplines that make you grasp different concepts one from the other.
