Laboratory abstract

The laboratory has pursued the regeneration of commercial spaces through a methodological approach that involves the integration of space design and service design. These spaces, visible and accessible to the public, host an aggregation of functions - Service Hub - aimed at reinforcing the identity of the neighborhood by enhancing existing activities and experimenting updating factors that embrace urban development trends, contributing to the common good and guaranteeing the common good its economic sustainability. The laboratory has also organized a competition for the development of new concepts for commercial interiors aimed at communicating the commitment of the Adidas brand in the field of sustainability issues.

A hub where technology becomes an instrument of growth, a means to create community, experiment, play and experience sport in a new way. In a shipyard imagery, where everything is still in transformation, technology is a means to reach new realities and transport users to new worlds and experiences. RAW TECH is more than just a space: it is a shop, a playground, a healthy bar, but above all it is a place that brings people together. The scenario inside the hub sees the mixing of hi-tech elements and typical elements of the construction site: augmented reality viewers, digital dressing rooms and sensors capable of detecting the movements inserted in a contrasting space, with scaffolding, plywood plates, exposed concrete and scaffolding. The setting is reminiscent of the shipbuilding world so as to be connected to the adidas’ RAW identity, and it is also inherent in the fact that the hub does not have its definitive configuration, but changes function throughout the day. The heart of the hub is the virtual play area: a space where you can play team games designed to promote both a healthy lifestyle and aggregation through physical activity. Here during the day the clients of the hub can practice tennis, basketball, football, baseball and volleyball, while in the evening they can watch screenings of sporting events.
